Clarinet

Thaddäus the Clarinet F.A.Q.

I don't get a sound out of the instrument, only strange noises

Move your Modulationwheel. If you still can't hear anything, you don't have configured the MIDI controllers correctly. Refer to the Quick Start Guide of the User Manual that was part of the download file.

I don't receive any MIDI signals

Thaddäus the Clarinet is designed as an instrument multi. The reason for this is the complexity of the architecture that exceeded the limits of one single instrument file regarding scripting and voice amount.
To make sure, everything works like it should, I highly recommend using only one instance of KONTAKT for this multi only. Otherwise, the MIDI channel routing gets corrupted.

Melodica

Volker the funky Melodica F.A.Q.

Why is it called VOLKER and why should it be funky?

A few years ago I found this old model of a HOHNER melodica with the name VOLKER on the case. Then a friend of mine painted it green and suddenly it became funky!

Why is it free?

It is the first instrument I designed and released to the public. Before charging people for my work I wanted to make sure what people really want.

Can I run the instrument with the free KONTAKT PLAYER?

Yes, but only for 15 minutes. This is not a limitation of Volker but a standard KONTAKT behaviour.

Can I run the instrument with earlier versions of KONTAKT?

No, since the new functions of KONTAKT 4.04 like the AET filter or extended scripting possibilities are strongly featured, there is no backward compatibility.

There is no sound coming out the VOLKER except for weird noises!!!

If you ever have played a real melodica (or any other wind instrument), you certainly recognized you have to blow air in it to get sound out of it. VOLKER works the same way: if you don't blow in your breath controller, you won't produce any sound except for noises.
If you don't have a breath controller, simply swap the numbers '1' and '2' on the GUI and you can play it with your modulation wheel.
Just be aware: without a breath controller, you don't get the funky VOLKER, you only get the VOLKER...
